Are you looking to dive deeper into the world of Lindy Hop? Do you like the idea of learning a routine and performing in front of a crowd? Are you interested in hanging out and practicing with people who are as obsessed with dancing as you are? Side Street Swing’s teams just might be the place for you!
Side Street’s teams hold open auditions annually in the second week of September. Other auditions are occasionally held at the discretion of the coaches.
Current team members can pay dues here. Please note that simply paying dues does not make you a member of the team - all team members must audition before joining.
We have several teams which cover a wide range of levels and goals, from entry-level to semi-pro. Some teams are competitive, some teams are performance oriented, and some focus on improving your dancing just for the sake of getting better! All the teams are lots of fun, and are coached by some of the city’s best Lindy Hoppers. Below you can learn more about each of our teams, and see if one of them might be right for you!
Summer 2018 ALL-TEAMS PROJECT!!!
Mondays, 8:30 - 10:00 pm
Coached by: All coaches!
Dues: Month to month - $70 regular, $55 student
Full summer - $180 regular, $150 student
This summer, The Hitchhikers, Lamplighters, and Firebrands will take a break from their regular practices and come together to focus on skills and technique! This mixed-level project combines the skills and experience of Side Street's entire coaching staff, and our full compliment of troupe members!
Over the course of the summer we will work on improving the look and feel of your dancing, focusing on connection, musicality, acrobatic skills development, improvisation, and more! Side Street coaches will be present in rotation to provide on-the-spot feedback and make sure things feel right.
This project will not involve learning or performing any choreography. If you know you will be away a lot this summer, don't worry! Team members can participate for the full summer, or just for the months you will be here.
Auditions will be held on Monday, May 28th, from 8:00 - 9:30 pm. There is a $5 audition fee, and all auditionees will receive a call back with feedback on their dancing, regardless of whether you are invited to join the team. If you would like to audition, please RSVP here. See you there!
Current team members do not need to re-audition, however you are welcome to attend for the fun of it ;)
